The return of Brandon Knight was short lived as he re-injured his left ankle in a loss to Oklahoma City on Sunday night. Phoenix Suns coach Jeff Hornacek said after the game he doesn’t expect Knight to play at Portland.
“They said it was the same issue he was having before, so I would guess he wouldn’t play (Monday) night, Hornacek said.”
Knight came off the bench Sunday in his first game back after an eight-game absence. He lasted until the end of the third quarter, when he limped off the floor following a drive to the basket. He stayed on the bench the rest of the game.
Knight failed to make an impact in his 22 minutes. He shot 1-of-10 from the field including six misses from three-point land. He finished with three points, four assists, two rebounds, a steal and two turnovers.
In his 11 games with the Suns, Knight is averaging 13.4 points, 4.5 assists and 0.5 steals per game.
