Benches cleared in the eighth inning of the Diamondbacks-Marlins game on Saturday.
The D-backs held an 8-2 lead at the time when Marlins pitcher Tayron Guerrero plunked Christian Walker on a 0-1 count.
On his way to first base, it had appeared Guerrero motioned to the D-backs bench prompting the brief confrontation.
Both bullpens cleared in the incident and despite protest by manager Torey Lovullo, both teams were issued warnings.
It was the second time in the game that Walker was hit by a pitch. He was hit by starter Jordan Yamamoto in the fourth inning to help load the bases for a grand slam two batters later by Nick Ahmed.
He would make the Marlins pay two batters later again in the eighth with another RBI double.
Walker was pulled from the game for a pinch runner following the at-bat.
