The Arizona Cardinals announced Sunday that they released linebacker Matt Longacre.
The team had just signed him to a one-year deal on Wednesday.
Arizona now has three open roster spots.
Longacre spent the last four seasons with the Los Angeles Rams. The linebacker appeared in 38 games (eight starts), recording 57 tackles, 6.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble.
In 2017, he compiled 5.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble, but his season was cut short after suffering a back injury near the end of the season.
He entered 2018 as a starter. During last season, he started seven of the 13 games he played in, had one sack and notched 17 combined tackles.
