The Arizona Diamondbacks have reinstated pitcher Taylor Clarke from the paternity list and optioned Stefan Crichton to Triple-A Reno, the team announced on Twitter.
Clarke was placed on the paternity list Friday, as he and his wife welcomed their third child, a daughter, on Thursday.
The right-hander is 3-3 with a 6.10 ERA and one save over 51.2 innings pitched in 12 games (11 starts) on the 2019 campaign.
He won his last start on July 24 against the Baltimore Orioles, allowing only two runs in six innings of work to go along with a career-high seven strikeouts.
Clarke is scheduled to start Tuesday night’s game against the Yankees in New York.
Crichton has a 3.07 ERA, 14 punchouts and a .173 opponent average over 14.2 innings pitched in 12 appearances for the D-backs this season.
In his latest stint with the big-league club (July 20-27), he allowed just two hits and struck out three without giving up a single run in 4.2 innings of work.
The D-backs conclude their four-game series with the Miami Marlins on Monday night before heading to the Bronx for a quick two-game series with the Yankees.
