Small forward Marcus Bagley, a four-star recruit for 2020 committed to Arizona State on Monday.
Arizona and Cal were also among Bagley’s consideration, but the 6-foot-7, 200-pounder elected to play where his grandfather, Joe Caldwell, played from 1961-64 and went on to be selected No. 2 overall in the 1964 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons.
His older brother, Marvin Bagley, was drafted No. 2 overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 2018 NBA Draft following his tenure at Duke.
Bagley is rated as the 50th-best prospect of 2020, as well as the No. 14 overall small forward and California’s eighth-best recruit in 247Sports Composite Rankings.
He averaged 19.9 points and 7.9 rebounds a game as a high school junior last season at Sheldon High School in Sacramento.
Bagley is Arizona State head coach Bobby Hurley’s first commit of the 2020 class.
