Cardinals coach Kingsbury wants his Madden ‘looks rating’ improved

Jul 30, 2019, 12:41 PM

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Kliff Kingsbury doesn’t yearn to play Madden 20. He’s surpassed a controller and console for a headset and the real-life Kyler Murray.

But the first-year NFL coach does have some beef with the makers of the EA Sports video game that will release on Friday.

“I’d seen a bunch of guys kinda of getting into their feelings about their ratings, and then somebody sent me a picture of what I look like on there,” Kingsbury said. “I want to get adjusted on looks rating. I look like I’m on the ‘Walking Dead’ in that picture.

“I apologize to any of those players that I thought, ‘Hey, it’s just a video game, why are you upset?’ ‘Cause I saw my picture on there and I’m not pleased on where we’re at.”

Kingsbury has legit complaints here.

The Cardinals as a team might have some as well. On Madden 20, Arizona’s defense earned a defensive rating of 80, tied with several teams for eighth-worst in the NFL. The offense has a rating of 73, fifth-worst. The team has an overall rating of 78.

But yeah, Kingsbury is still stuck on his pasty-Ryan Gosling-like appearance. And he has a passionate take on it.

“Somebody sent me a text, one of my really kind friends,” he added. “And it just said, ‘Looking good, bud.’ It’s like, alright. Work on that, adjusters.”
