Former Cardinals kicker Phil Dawson has retired.

The 20-year NFL veteran is signing a contract with the Cleveland Browns, whom he spent 14 seasons with, to retire as a member of the team.

Dawson was the Cardinals starting kicker to begin last season until being placed on IR in November after suffering a hip injury. Zane Gonzalez then took over kicking duties.

Dawson spent his last two seasons with the Cardinals, making 77.1% of his field goal attempts and 92.7% of his extra points during his tenure.

Throughout his career, those numbers rose to 83.8% and 97.6%, respectively.

Dawson’s 14 years kicking for the Browns from 1999-2012 saw him make 84% of his field goals and 97.8% of his extra points.

Dawson left after the 2012-13 season to sign with the San Francisco 49ers, where he played for four seasons and made 86.1% of his field goals and 98.5% of his extra points.

Gonzalez is expected to takeover as the starting kicker for the Cardinals in the absence of Dawson to begin the 2019-20 season.
