After just four games at the Major League level this season, D-backs outfielder Yasmany Tomas was outrighted to Triple-A Reno on Sunday.
Yasmany Tomas was outright off the 40-man roster to Reno. Second time this happened for him, which means he approved it. He could have elected free agency (his salary still would have been guaranteed).

Tomas, who has dominated the Pacific Coast League this season, was batting .305 with 29 home runs and 80 RBI before getting called up on July 26.
However, in six at-bats with the D-backs this season, Tomas didn’t reach base once and struck out three times.
To add to his demotion, Tomas has also been removed from the 40-man roster.
The six-foot-two slugger hasn’t held a consistent spot on the D-backs Major League roster since 2016 when he hit 31 home runs and registered 83 RBI.
His 2017 season was flooded with injury but in the 47 games he was able to participate in, he hit just .241 with eight home runs in 47 games.
It’s unclear what Tomas’ future with the team will be but he is owed $17 million next season before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2021.
