Rising captain earns USL Team of the Week honorable mention

Phoenix Rising FC captain Solomon Asante earned USL Team of the Week honorable mention, the league announced Tuesday.
Asante scored the team’s game-winner Friday over El Paso Locomotive FC in the 72nd minute. In the win, he won seven duels, created two chances and drew three fouls.
Asante leads Phoenix in scoring this season with 16 goals in 20 games played.
The nod is Asante’s eighth accolade this season.

The recognition also marks the 17th week overall and ninth consecutive week that a Rising player has been recognized by the league.
