Peterson a finalist for Rookie of the Year

Patrick Peterson of the Arizona Cardinals was named as one
of the five finalists for 2011 Pepsi NFL Rookie of the
Year
Friday.
Peterson, drafted fifth overall out of LSU, tied an NFL
record by returning four punts for touchdowns, including
an
electrifying 99-yarder in overtime to clinch a Week 9 win
against the St. Louis Rams.
The amazing special teams play helped Peterson earn a spot
as the NFC’s kick returner for the Pro Bowl.
On defense, Peterson started all 16 games at cornerback
and
had two interceptions.
Other finalists include: Broncos linebacker Von Miller,
Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, Bengals quarterback Andy
Dalton, and San Francisco linebacker Aldon Smith.
Fans can vote for the winner on www.nfl.com/rookies through
9:00 PM EST on Tuesday, January 31. The winner will be
announced during a two-hour primetime awards special in
Indianapolis, which is the site of Super Bowl XLVI.
