With the start to the Arizona State football season looming on Thursday, preseason accolades for Sun Devil running back Eno Benjamin continue to pile up.

The junior team captain was named by Fox Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt as the No. 2 ranked player in the entire Pac-12.

Klatt liked Benjamin’s numbers last season as he racked up 1,642 yards and 16 touchdowns on 300 rushing attempts, and thinks he has the ability to surpass those numbers this season.

He’s a fabulous player. I love what he does out of the backfield. He is rocked up. I saw him at media days, this dude is ready to rock. I think he is going to have a tremendous season and if they want to, in particular with a true freshman quarterback, I think they could lean on him for upwards of 2,000 yards out of the backfield.

Earlier this year, Benjamin was named to the preseason AP All-American second team.

Benjamin was ranked one spot higher on Klatt’s list than Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert, who is expected to be one of the first quarterbacks off the board in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Colorado wide receiver Laviska Shenault was ranked as the top player in the conference.

Stanford tackle Walker Little and Utah linebacker Bradlee Anae were the fourth and fifth ranked players in the conference, respectively.
