MLB Pipeline teams of the year include 4 D-backs prospects

Kevin Cron, Josh Rojas, Daulton Varsho and Seth Beer could be major contributors to the Arizona Diamondbacks down the line, but for now the sluggers are making their hay in the minor leagues.
The four D-backs prospects were named to the MLB Pipeline first or second team of the year.
Two of those four have already made an impact on the major league roster: Cron and Rojas.
Both were named to the first team after they each launched more than 20 home runs in the minors this season.

Cron led the minors with 39 home runs in just 84 games. He also recorded 107 RBIs while slashing .329/.446/.777, mostly with AAA Reno.
His contributions in the majors included 60 at-bats in 30 games played, with four doubles, five home runs, 15 RBIs and a .200 batting average.
Rojas has had 69 at-bats in just 22 games played with the D-backs. He’s enjoyed a slash line of .261/.338/.406 while recording four doubles and two home runs among his 18 hits.
In the minors at the Double-A and Triple-A levels, Rojas slashed .332/.418/.606 in 105 games with 33 steals, 23 home runs, 89 runs and 83 RBIs.
Acquired from the Houston Astros in the Zack Greinke trade at the deadline, the Arizona native made his MLB debut with his hometown team on Aug. 12, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and one RBI against the Rockies.
Both players are currently on the D-backs’ active roster.
Varsho and Beer were listed on the second team.
Varsho, a catcher, posted 18 home runs, 21 steals, 85 runs and 58 RBIs in 108 games.
Beer, another acquisition in the Greinke trade, blasted 26 home runs and 103 RBI in 122 games.
While Beer spent some time in high-A in the Houston Astros organization before being traded, both spent the later part of the season in Double-A with the Jackson Generals.
