The Arizona Diamondbacks, along with all of Major League Baseball, will recognize the tragic events of 9/11 in ballparks across the country.

The D-backs, who are in the middle of a series at the New York Mets, will wear special ‘We Shall Not Forget’ patches on their caps.

The same banner being used as a patch will be displayed throughout Citi Field and all other MLB stadiums that are hosting games.

The Toronto Blue jays will be wearing caps that represent both the U.S. and Canada.

Major League Baseball has announced that royalties of its sales from the commemorative caps will be donated to the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, the Pentagon Memorial Fund and the Flight 93 National Memorial.

MLB and the Major League Players Association will also continue to support the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund, which was endowed after Sept. 11, 2001 to assist those affected.

In addition to the commemorative banner that will be displayed nationwide, the D-backs and Mets will invite first responders on the field and wear NYPD and NYFD caps during their pregame routine.
