Arizona State baseball’s signing class ranked as the eighth best in the nation, according to Baseball America.

Their 2019 signing class places ASU in the top 10 across the NCAA for the third time in four years.

According to Baseball America, ASU’s standout signee is left-handed pitcher Justin Fall.

Fall spent two seasons at Brookdale Community College in Middletown, New Jersey. Last season, Fall held a 1.82 ERA with 68 strikeouts in 11 appearances.

Fall is the lone junior college transfer joining the Sun Devils for this upcoming season alongside 15 incoming freshman.

Last season, ASU finished the season 38-19 and had an early exit in the NCAA Regionals.

The ranking listed the 2019 NCAA-champion program Vanderbilt with the No.1 overall class for a record breaking sixth time in school history. It also extended their streak of appearances in the Top 25 to 15 years. Their top signee was tabbed as right-handed pitcher Jack Leiter, who is the son of former MLB player Al Leiter.

During the 2019 MLB Draft, the New York Yankees took at shot at trying to draft the young pitcher in the 20th round even though his dad repeatedly told scouts he was going to honor his commitment to Vanderbilt.

Around the Pac-12, UCLA was the top-ranked program in the conference at No. 5. Stanford’s 2019 signee class ranked No. 19 and Arizona came in at No. 24.

The rankings were based on all players from the high schools and junior college ranks. They did not factor in four-year transfers.
