Before the end of the first quarter of the Arizona Cardinals’ Week 2 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, the team announced running back David Johnson was questionable to return with a wrist injury.

Johnson left the field with 3:32 to go in the first quarter.

He was being looked at on the sideline before heading to the locker room with trainers. Johnson later returned to the sidelines to have his left wrist taped.

Johnson returned to the field for the Cardinals with 3:49 left in the second quarter.

“The wrist is good, I just landed weird. We just taped it, and I was good to go,” Johnson told reporters after the game. “It is a big relief because I definitely did not want that to happen again. I was a little nervous. Once I calmed down, I realized it was not bad.”

He had four carries for 11 yards during the first half and finished the day with a total of seven carries for 14 yards. Johnson had the lone touchdown for the Cardinals in a 23-17 loss at Baltimore.

Johnson previously suffered a fractured left wrist in Week 1 of the 2017 season and missed the rest of that year.

When Johnson left the field, it was his left glove that was off when he headed to the trainers.

The Cardinals brought in Chase Edmonds at running back after Johnson left.
