The Arizona Cardinals avoided any hints of injury until the fourth quarter against the Carolina Panthers.
With 11:27 to go in the fourth quarter, the Cardinals were forced to punt from their own 30-yard line.
Punter Andy Lee put the ball at Carolina’s 17-yard line, but wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud brought the ball back 51 yards. Lee attempted to tackle McCloud, but was called for a horse collar tackle.
Lee was questionable to return with a hip flexor.
Lee had three punts in Sunday’s loss, his longest came on the play that he left injured.
After the game, Lee said he didn’t feel much until a couple of minutes on the sideline.
“We’ll probably know a little more (Monday), but right now I don’t think it’s anything crazy, crazy, crazy serious,” Lee said.
He also mentioned he’s never suffered a similar injury before.
