The Arizona Cardinals saw punter Andy Lee suffer a hip injury in Sunday’s loss to the Panthers, and two days later, they’ve signed punter Ryan Winslow to the practice squad.
Lee, 37, left the game Sunday with a hip flexor injury after he was forced to make a tackle.
Winslow, 25, was with the Cardinals during the preseason and made 14 punts for an average of 46.9 yards.
Winslow was an undrafted free agent and signed with the Chicago Bears last year, not making an appearance in the regular season. He also spent time with the Alliance of American Football’s Memphis Express.
The University of Pittsburgh alumnus was an All-ACC first-team selection his senior year in 2017, and led his conference with an average of 44.5 yards per punt.
The Cardinals’ injury report will come out on Wednesday, revealing more about the status of the veteran Lee. Players were off on Tuesday.
Next up for the 0-2-1 Cardinals is a Week 4 home matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
