A look back at all the dumb outfits Carson Palmer had to wear

Remember the Arizona Cardinals’ bucket challenge?
The Cardinals’ quarterbacks — and sometimes other players like Patrick Peterson — would participate in a competition by throwing footballs into a bucket and the loser had to wear a silly outfit sometime before the game that week.
This gave us such treats like Peterson in an elves outfit and Matt Barkley running around the field pregame with barely any clothes on at all.
Despite being 1) a really good NFL quarterback and 2) the Cardinals’ starter, that didn’t stop Carson Palmer from picking up his fair share of Ls in the tradition.
With Palmer being inducted into the Ring of Honor on Sunday, take a look at the accompanying gallery at some of the outfits he donned.
Of the six instances we found looking back, the Cardinals were 4-2 in those games. One of those was Week 16 against the New York Giants in 2017 when Palmer was on injured reserve but he still managed to dress up as a flamingo.
In the five other games, Palmer was 122-for-198 passing (61.6% completion) for 1,561 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions. So now you’ve learned something new today.
Could we see one more bucket challenge this week? Palmer said he’s game in June.
“Man, that would suck,” he said. “But I can’t turn down a bet. I’m a sucker for the bucket drill. Anything is on the table right now.”
