It was a moment the Arizona Cardinals hope will happen many more times down the line.
Arizona Cardinals rookie quarterback Kyler Murray had his first career rushing touchdown in Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.
On 2-and-4 on the Seattle 9-yard line, Murray took the ball on a quarterback draw. He ran the ball up the middle nine yards for the first Cardinals touchdown of the day.
Zane Gonzalez was good on the extra point to cut Seattle’s lead to 20-10.
Murray’s touchdown was the first rushing touchdown for a Cardinals’ quarterback since Carson Palmer had an 8-yard touchdown run Nov. 29. 2015 at San Francisco.
So far on the day, Murray was 16-of-25 for 189 yards. Along with his one rushing touchdown, he threw one interception and was sacked three times.
Coming into Sunday’s game, Murray had thrown for four touchdowns in the first three weeks.
