Khalil Tate will get the start for the Arizona Wildcats as they take on Colorado for first place in the Pac-12 South, according to The Athletic Arizona.

Tate missed the Wildcats conference opener against UCLA last week as freshman quarterback Grant Gunnell led Arizona to a 20-17 win, throwing for 352 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.

Hamstring and ankle injuries kept Tate out of the UCLA game, but the senior quarterback was deemed good to go following pregame warm ups in Boulder.

The senior, Tate burst onto the scene his sophomore year rushing for more than 1,400 yards and passing for more than 1,500 yards.

Last season, Tate’s rushing numbers regressed to less than 300 yards on the season but he has already exceeded his 2018 rushing numbers in just three games played in 2019.

Running back J.J. Taylor is also expected to play for Arizona after missing the UCLA game.

Taylor rushed for 1,434 yard for Arizona last season and has 35 carries in three games this season for 208 yards and two touchdowns.

Colorado and Arizona are the only two undefeated teams in conference play in the Pac-12 South.

Colorado is coming off a bye week but scored a 34-31 win over Arizona State two weeks ago in Tempe for its only conference game this season.
