There is going to be an outside factor at play for No. 17 Arizona State when they play in Salt Lake against No. 13 Utah on Saturday that goes beyond the Xs and Os.
The forecasts call for rain and showers in the city, as well as temperatures ranging from the mid-to-low 50s, per weather.com.
A 4 p.m. kickoff in Utah projects to have mostly cloudy skies kicking off the day before the showers arrive roughly three hours before kickoff. From there, thunderstorms are in the forecast for the second half, including 75-85% chances of precipitation and temperatures dropping to the mid-40s by the end of the game.
The Sun Devils come in against the Utes at a 2-1 record in the Pac-12, most recently recording a last-minute win at home against Washington State.
Despite the two teams being closely-ranked in the polls and sharing the same conference record, Utah is nearly a two-touchdown favorite at most sportsbooks.
Kickoff is set for 3 p.m, local time and you can listen to the matchup on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
