We’re almost halfway through the 2019 NFL season.
Week 8’s edition presented a consensus of which five teams belong in the top five, but that’s not the only area of agreement among 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s Doug Franz, Ron Wolfley and Paul Calvisi.
This week’s unveiling has unanimous picks at the No. 1-3 spots in the New England Patriots (7-0), New Orleans Saints (6-1) and Green Bay Packers (6-1).
No surprise there. All three are coming off of double-digit wins in Week 7.
The other two teams in each of the trio’s top fives are the San Francisco 49ers (6-0) and Kansas City Chiefs (5-2).
San Francisco is the only undefeated NFC team remaining, while Kansas City is the only two-loss team to crack the top five.
Franz and Wolf said that they won’t put the 49ers any higher until they can prove that their defense is for real and can beat higher quality opponents.
Calvisi didn’t even have the NFC West division leaders in his top five until the team traded for wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders on Tuesday.
There could be a shakeup in Week 9’s rankings, as the Packers will travel to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Chiefs on Sunday night.
