Cardinals-Saints injury report Week 8: David Johnson a gametime decision

The Arizona Cardinals, for all intents and purposes, were without star running back David Johnson (ankle) in a Week 7 win over the New York Giants.
His status for this Sunday in Week 8 is up in the air as head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Friday he would be a gametime decision.
“It will be gametime,” Kingsbury said. “He’s a tough guy. We’re hopeful. But we’ll see how he feels on Sunday.”

The Cardinals, in the wake of injuries to Johnson and fellow running back D.J. Foster (hamstring), signed a pair of backs on Wednesday in Alfred Morris and Zach Zenner.
“Both guys have impressed. Both guys have played in this league,” Kingsbury said. “Smart, hard-working. They’ll know the system and be able to slide in there and be effective.”
The gametime decision designation applied to Jordan Hicks (calf) and Christian Kirk (ankle), too.
“Both gametime. Same deal. They did some things today. I’m hopeful on those two guys that they’ll feel good on Sunday and be ready to go.”
