The Arizona Cardinals were down a man early against the New Orleans Saints.
Cardinals linebacker Cassius Marsh was ruled out of Sunday’s contest after suffering a concussion in the first quarter.
In the Saints’ opening drive, Marsh got into the backfield, taking down New Orleans wide receiver Michael Thomas for a nine-yard loss with 10:24 left to go in the quarter.
Marsh was slow to get up, jogging off the field and into the blue medical tent on the sideline. He wouldn’t remain there long, heading to the locker room for further evaluation before being ruled out by the team.
Marsh exited the game with one tackle for a loss.
According to Pro Football Talk, the linebacker wasn’t too pleased with the out designation, taking to Twitter midgame.
“Keeping a completely healthy player from being on the field isn’t protecting anyone,” Marsh said in a since-deleted tweet.
In eight games this season, Marsh has 14 tackles, four for loss, and one sack.
