The Arizona Cardinals moved on from former first-round pick Robert Nkemdiche this year, and now the Miami Dolphins are doing the same.

The Dolphins waived Nkemdiche on Tuesday after he played in only two games for his second NFL team. Miami picked up Nkemdiche in August after he was cut by the Cardinals, who selected him 26th overall in 2016.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafalo was among the first to report Nkemdiche being waived. He added that “tardiness was a bit of an issue” for the 2016 first-rounder with the Dolphins. Garafalo said it wasn’t clear how much his tardiness contributed to him being let go by his new team.

Being late wouldn’t be the first time Nkemdiche has had off-the-field issues, big or small. In college at Ole Miss, Nkemdiche was suspended after falling from a window and missed his team’s Sugar Bowl appearance.

He also reportedly showed up out of shape with both the Cardinals and the Dolphins and was arrested in Scottsdale over the summer for traffic misdemeanors.

After spending some time on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, he finally got into just 18 defensive snaps for the Dolphins the last two weeks.
