The Phoenix Suns announced Friday that they will wear their Los Suns Noche City Edition uniforms twice in December.
They will suit up in their 2019-20 alternate jerseys on Monday, Dec. 9, for a Fiesta Night-themed game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Phoenix will throw the black jerseys on again Dec. 14 in a Mexico City game against the San Antonio Spurs.
Ricky Rubio helped the team officially unveil the alternate look on Friday morning, and the Suns also revealed a refreshed mural on the side of Carly’s Bistro on Roosevelt Row.
The painting by local artist Lalo Cota is inspired by Mexican folklore and surrealism. While it previously featured Devin Booker, it now features four players wearing the updated Los Suns uniforms. Rubio, Booker, Deandre Ayton and Kelly Oubre Jr. are portrayed on the mural.
Cota’s new Los Suns art exhibit will be open to fans beginning at 7 p.m. Friday and will remain at the monOrchid Gallery down the street from Carly’s Bistro through Sunday.
monOrchid is open from 7:30 a.m. – 11 p.m. on Saturday and 7:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. on Sunday.
The new Los Suns jerseys, like last season’s purple versions, read “Somos PHX” above the Nike label.
One leg on the shorts features a Suns-colored Arizona flag, while the team’s classic sunburst logo sits at the belt line.
The jersey’s lettering is white with orange piping, and the shoulders and neck of the jersey are lined with purple and orange to complement the black.
