Arizona players tear up Sparky logo at midfield before Territorial Cup
Sun Devil Stadium’s midfield makeover ahead of the Territorial Cup between Arizona State and Arizona was quite the sight to be seen.
It took a lot of hard work from groundskeeper Brian Johnson to not only paint in an epic logo that saw ASU’s Sparky cast a shadow on the outline of the state of Arizona at midfield, but to repair the damage caused from the ASU crowd storming the field after a 31-28 win over No. 6 Oregon a week ago.
Arizona’s players weren’t so appreciative. The Wildcats were seen stomping and tearing up the design before the game.

ASU fans were not fond of the actions of the Arizona players and made their feelings known on Twitter:
Prior to the start of this game, the whole University of Arizona gathered at midfield at Sun Devil Stadium and stomped over our logo.
Keep being classy, cats.

UA players BIG mad they weren’t recruited by ASU so stomping on our logo is the next best thing since they can’t stomp teams on the field
Thank you @bermuda419s for all the hardwork you do

I would normally root for Arizona over Arizona State, but after seeing the childish pregame behavior from the wildcats coming out and using their cleats to dig up the Sundevil logo at midfield, #NoClass gets no support from me.
I hope ASU wins.
