After one season with the Arizona Diamondbacks, outfielder Adam Jones is heading across the Pacific Ocean to continue his career in Japan.
Jones announced on his Instagram that he had decided to sign with the Orix Buffaloes of the NPB.
Last season with the D-backs, the 34-year-old slashed .260/.313/.414 and had 16 home runs with 67 RBIs.
He broke into the major leagues in 2006 with the Seattle Mariners and spent 10 seasons with the Baltimore Orioles.
Jones was a five-time All-Star from 2009-2015 with the Orioles.
According to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, he signed a two-year, $8 million deal with a club option for a third year. With incentives, the contract could be worth up to $15.5 million.
Jones made $4.5 million dollars in 2019 with the D-backs, according to Spotrac.
