Chicago Bears linebacker Khalil Mack tried his hand as Santa Clause this holiday season.
The Walmart in Mack’s Florida hometown Fort Pierce posted to Facebook that the football player had paid off all holiday layover accounts at the location.
The gift from the Khalil Mack Foundation covered 300 to 350 accounts for a total of about $80,000, according to the Chicago Tribune.
“His foundation came to us and said he wanted to be a secret Santa,” Walmart manager Mathias Libardi told the TCPalm.com.
This Christmas time will be a little bit easier for hundreds of Florida families.
Meanwhile, Mack and the Bears are trying to stay in the playoff hunt and secure a wild card berth. With three games left, Chicago has a record of 7-6 and games against the Kansas City Chiefs and division foes Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings.
