Devin Booker was officially ruled out with a right forearm contusion for Saturday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs in Mexico City.

Phoenix Suns head coach Monty Williams told media after practice Friday that shooting guard Devin Booker did not practice and described his status as “day-to-day” for a right forearm injury.

On Saturday, Williams said it was Booker’s wrist that was causing the problems, although the official injury report lists a right forearm contusion.

Booker had a wrap on his right forearm in Monday’s win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The wrap was back again during Wednesday’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, this time with more tape.

The 23-year-old was seen having a conversation with Williams at one point in the game when the arm appeared to be really bothering him but he did not come out of the game.

When asked after the game if he was fine, Booker said he was and that it was just “a little bruise.” When asked if he re-aggravated the injury during the game, Booker said, “nah.”

Booker had even more wrap on his forearm on Friday, this one going nearly all the way to his knuckles, taping over his wrist and around his thumb. The wrap also had a wire that was hooked up to some type of device. It is the same hand Booker had surgery on before last season.

Booker has a history of injuries. Last season, Booker had the hand surgery, a left hamstring strain, a left big toe injury, a re-aggravation of the left hamstring, back spasms, right hamstring tightness and a left ankle injury. Booker didn’t miss any time because of the hand but the other injuries added up to 18 missed games and he missed 28 the year prior with another laundry list of ailments.

This season, Booker has not been on the injury report yet or missed a game, starting the first 24 of the season. That’s the longest consecutive games streak for Booker since the 2016-17 season.

The Suns and Spurs start at 3 p.m from Arena Ciudad de Mexico. You can listen live on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
