Freshman quarterback Jayden Daniels was named a freshman All-American by ESPN while senior wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk was named to the Associated Press third team All-American as an all-purpose player. On Thursday, Aiyuk was also named a second-team All-American as an all-purpose player by the Football Writer’s Association of America.
Through 11 games, Daniels has posted completed 62.3% passes for 2,748 yards with 17 touchdowns and two interceptions. His passing yards currently rank 13th in school history.
Additionally, Daniels’ All-American accolade gives ASU at least one Freshman All-American in each of the past eight seasons. Daniels was previously named an honorable mention for the Pac-12 Conference’s Freshman Offensive Player of the Year.
Aiyuk’s All-American recognition is the first of his career.
He recorded 1,192 receiving yards this season, the fifth-most in ASU single season history.
This season, Aiyuk was also a Pac-12 All-Conference First team selection and selected to the Pro Football Focus All-Pac-12 First Team.
Aiyuk ‘s Sun Devil career is officially in the books after he announced on Sunday morning that he would not participate in the Sun Bowl against Florida State on New Year’s Eve as he prepares for the upcoming NFL Draft.
