Doug & Wolf Power Poll: Ravens still reign supreme
Dec 18, 2019, 12:26 PM
Another week, another win for the Baltimore Ravens.
So it only makes sense that the Ravens remain the consensus No. 1 team for a third consecutive week on the weekly power poll selected by the hosts of the Doug & Wolf show on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
The Ravens (12-2) secured their 10th victory in a row on Sunday, thrashing the New York Jets, 42-21. It was the fourth time in six weeks Baltimore beat an opponent by at least three touchdowns.
Over the past ten games, quarterback Lamar Jackson has thrown 23 touchdowns to four interceptions with 1,779 yards. He also has 865 yards rushing with six touchdowns during the streak.
Ron Wolfley and Paul Calvisi both agreed the Saints, Seahawks, 49ers and Chiefs come in behind the Ravens, respectively.
Doug Franz, meanwhile, has more faith in Kansas City than Wolfley and Calvisi and placed the Chiefs in second.
Franz believes this is a different Chiefs team from last year, as the defense has held teams under 20 points in four consecutive weeks.
Wolfley and Calvisi think quarterback Drew Brees places the Saints in second. The 40-year-old veteran completed 29 of 30 passes for 307 yards and four touchdowns in a 34-7 victory against the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night.
Here’s how the hosts each ranked the top five teams in the league:
