Give me 5! ASU WR Frank Darby high-fives ref after near-TD grab

Dec 31, 2019, 2:24 PM | Updated: 2:29 pm

Arizona State wide receiver Frank Darby is an outspoken individual, always leaving players and fans wondering what the junior will do next.

Just look at the hype over the spread ahead of the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl.

Darby wants to celebrate the good things in life.

Like touchdowns.

Up 6-0 in a game that was off the rails on the first play from scrimmage, ASU had a chance to extend the lead deep in Florida State’s territory.

Looking for pay dirt, true freshman quarterback Jayden Daniels dropped back with his sights set on a cutting Darby. Tracking the ball to the corner of the end zone, Darby was able to make a good play on the ball, making the catch and keeping his foot inbounds.

The catch was great, but getting a ref in on the celebration is another level.

The only issue?

The completion wasn’t a completion, as officials ruled that the Darby did not fully have possession of the football before stepping out.

But upon further review from social media, the celebration stands.
