The Arizona Coyotes announced Thursday they have assigned forward Michael Chaput to the Tucson Roadrunners.
Chaput will return to the Coyotes’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate three days after being recalled on Monday. In the Coyotes’ one game since Chaput was recalled, the forward did not play.
The 6-foot-2 forward was originally a third-round pick in the 2010 NHL Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. Chaput spent his first three NHL seasons in Columbus before making stops in Vancouver and Montreal, accumulating a total of 167 career appearances.
In February, Chaput was acquired by the Coyotes from the Canadiens in exchange for forward Jordan Weal.
Chaput has not yet made an appearance for the Coyotes.
