After winning the 2020 World Junior Championships out on loan with Team Canada, forward Barrett Hayton has been recalled by the Arizona Coyotes.
In seven games for Team Canada, Hayton recorded six goals and six assists for a total of 12 points. Hayton captained the team and had the game-tying goal in the third period of the championship game against Russia. He was named the player of the game in the final.
Hayton, 19, was the fifth overall draft pick by the Coyotes in the 2018 NHL Draft. He made his NHL debut in October against the Vegas Golden Knights and he was the seventh-youngest player in Coyotes history to do so.
In 14 games this season, Hayton has a goal and three assists.
The Coyotes have won four games in a row and are back in action on Thursday in Tampa Bay against the Lightning.
