The Arizona Diamondbacks continue to lock up players for the 2020 season.

Here’s a look at the latest signings from the D-backs:

Andrew Chafin

The sheriff is staying put.

According to Robert Murray, the D-backs and reliever Andrew Chafin have agreed to a $3.045 million contract, avoiding arbitration.

Last season with the D-backs, Chafin sported a 3.76 ERA, striking out 68 batters — a career high — in 52.2 innings pitched. The reliever allowed 23 runs on 52 hits in 2019 to go along with 18 walks. The deal keeps Chafin on Arizona’s roster for a seventh season.

Over the course of his six seasons in the desert, Chafin has put together a 3.57 ERA, striking out 278 batters and earning two saves. He has an overall record of 9-11.

Matt Andriese

Following reported signings of David Peralta and Robbie Ray, the team agreed to a deal with reliever Matt Andriese, avoiding arbitration.

Per Robert Murray, the two sides agreed to a one-year, $1.39 million Friday morning.

Andriese, who was acquired back in 2018 from the Tampa Bay Rays, has spent two seasons with the D-backs.

The reliever finished 2019 with a 4.71 ERA, allowing 37 runs on 72 hits in 70.2 innings pitched. He also recorded a save and struck out 79 batters.

Jake Lamb

Joining Andriese as two of the latest D-backs to avoid arbitration is infielder Jake Lamb.

According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, Lamb and the D-backs agreed to a one-year, $5.51 million deal.

Last season, Lamb averaged .193, recording 36 hits, six home runs, 30 RBIs and 26 runs scored in 78 games played. His 187 at-bats marked the second-lowest of his career, Lamb dealt with strained quadriceps for a good portion of the year.
