The Arizona Cardinals have signed quarterback Brett Hundley to a one-year contract, the team announced in a press release on Sunday.

Hundley backed up rookie Kyler Murray in 2019, which was also Hundley’s first season with Arizona.

Hundley appeared in three games for the Cardinals on the season, including one game in which he played for an ailing Murray and went 4-for-9 on pass attempts for 49 yards and no touchdowns or picks. He also rushed six times for 35 yards in that game, a 27-13 win at Seattle.

The 26-year-old came to Arizona on a one-year deal last offseason.

He previously played for the Seattle Seahawks in 2018 as the backup to Russell Wilson, and before that was the backup to Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. He saw considerable playing time with the Packers, starting nine games in 2017 and registering a 60.8 completion percentage that season with 1,836 yards, nine touchdowns and 12 interceptions, along with 270 rushing yards and two scores.

Before the NFL, Hundley played at Chandler High School in Arizona and eventually went to UCLA, playing 40 games there in three seasons. The Packers drafted him in the fifth round (147th overall) in 2015.

The Cardinals also have Drew Anderson and Chris Streveler at the quarterback position, the former of which was even elevated to the active roster in 2019 for Week 17. Other quarterbacks cycled through the organization on the practice squad and during training camp.
