In his three seasons with the Arizona State Sun Devils, guard Remy Martin has played some of his best games against the rival Arizona Wildcats.

The junior had another solid night on Saturday in Tempe in Arizona State’s 66-65 upset of No. 22 Arizona.

Martin scored 24 points on Saturday night against the Wildcats. He dropped 20 points against Arizona earlier in the season when the Sun Devils lost 75-47 on Jan. 4.

The Sun Devils are 3-3 against the Wildcats in games Martin has played in.

Martin has averaged at least 20.5 points each game against Arizona. However, over the last four games he’s averaged 25.5 points against the Wildcats with a 31 point performance last season.

In the matchup on Jan. 31, 2019, against Arizona, he scored 31 points which, was the best he played last year. Along with a season high in points, he also had a season high minutes (41), field goals made (10), 3-point field goals made (5) and free throws made (10).

In a game against the Wildcats less than two months later (March 9, 2019), he set a season-high in rebounds (8).

The 58 points Martin scored against the Wildcats last year were the most against any other team. He also scored 38 points against both Oregon and Utah.

The good performance on Saturday night continues Martin’s hot start to the season against conference opponents, currently averaging 23.7 points through six games. He averaged 14.2 points and 9.2 points, respectively, in his last two seasons. He’s the first player in Pac-12 history with at least 20 points through the first six games of conference play.
