As the news of former Los Angeles Laker guard and NBA legend Kobe Bryant’s passing poured out across the airwaves and social media Sunday, those who were impacted in some way by the player on the court and/or the man in the community took time to recognize his legacy.

NBA coaches, visibly distraught, fought back tears and tried to find something to say, while trying to console others out on the hardwood.

Some players changed jersey numbers, others had tributes on their sneakers. For those attending the games and/or watching from home, the overall pain experienced on the court was undoubtedly felt.

Fans, Laker or not, from all walks of life came together to grieve, setting up memorials from the Staples Center all the way to Italy.

Even those not in the NBA landscape, like tennis players Nick Kyrgios and Coco Gauff and soccer stars Neymar and Lionel Messi, among others, felt Sunday’s tragedy.
