Who’s ready for a road trip?
Tickets for the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Mexico City series with the San Diego Padres went on sale Monday morning.
The two-game series, which takes place April 18-19, marks the first-ever MLB regular season games to be played in Mexico City, with tickets starting at $35.
The matchups will be the first meetings between the two clubs of the 2020 season, and will be played at Alfredo Harp Helu Stadium.
It’s the 12th time Arizona has played in Mexico, more than any other MLB team. Last season, the team played in Monterrey, Mexico, following 10 exhibition games in Hermosillo, Sonora from 1998-2015.
The D-backs faced the Colorado Rockies in Monterrey last year, and played the Brewers (1998 and 1999), the Angels (2000), the Athletics (2001), the Padres (2002), the Royals (2003), the White Sox (2008), Team Mexico (2009) and the Rockies (2010 and 2015) in Hermosillo.
Arizona also went to Australia to open the 2014 MLB regular season and play the Dodgers.
The D-backs had the upper hand over the Padres in 2019, winning 11 of the 19 matchups between the two sides.
