McLemore was an efficient quarterback over his nine games in his senior year, completing 94 of his 119 passes — a clip of 79% — for 1,573 yards. He had 15 touchdowns and four interceptions. On the ground, he rushed for 429 yards and five touchdowns on 60 carries.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound passer is ranked the No. 35 dual-threat quarterback in the class and No. 120 player in California by 247Sports.
Serra went 13-2 this past season. McLemore’s top games included a 6-for-8 performance with four touchdowns and no interceptions, a 10-for-14 game with three touchdowns and no picks, and two games in which he completed more than 90% of his passes.
According to McLemore’s Twitter account, he had 13 offers from Division I schools including Nevada and Boise State.
ASU offered on Jan. 23 and was the final one he tweeted about.
McLemore committed to ASU despite a crowded quarterback room. Incumbent starter Jayden Daniels will return as a sophomore, and behind him is sophomore Ethan Long, who was named a captain as a true freshman and dubbed “Captain America.”
Redshirt freshman Trenton Bourguet is also on the ASU roster.
The Sun Devils now have 19 commits, according to 247Sports: seven four-star players and 12 three-star. Their recruiting class is ranked No. 23 in the country and No. 4 in the Pac-12.
McLemore is the 13th ASU commit from a California high school.
