Arizona Coyotes recall goaltender Darcy Kuemper after conditioning stint

The Arizona Coyotes announced on Sunday that they’ve recalled goaltender Darcy Kuemper from Tucson following a conditioning stint.
Kuemper started Saturday’s game for the Tucson Roadrunners against the Stockton Heat.
The Roadrunners lost 4-1, but Kuemper stopped 26 of 28 shots faced.
“It’s been a long time, so it was good to get back into the game and get back competing,” Kuemper said after the game. “It would’ve been nice to get the win, but it was nice to be back out there.”

Kuemper has been sidelined since suffering a lower-body injury on Dec. 19 against the Minnesota Wild.
Prior to the game against the Tampa Bay Lighting on Feb. 22, head coach Rick Tocchet said Kuemper is a “possibility” for the game against the Florida Panthers on Feb. 25.
In his games with Arizona this season, Kuemper has posted a 15-8-2 record with a 2.17 goals against average, a .929 save percentage and two shutouts.
