Receivers CeeDee Lamb and Jerry Jeudy told reporters Tuesday at the NFL Draft Combine that they have met with the Arizona Cardinals.

Oklahoma’s Lamb and Alabama’s Jeudy project as the top two options at their position, though which is the better prospect is up for debate. They are potential picks at Arizona’s No. 8 selection in the first round of the 2020 draft.

Lamb, who played in college with Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, added he would love to team up with the 2018 Heisman Trophy winner once again.

“He just told me to be myself,” Lamb said of what Murray told him heading into the combine. “Don’t really be anybody that I’m not and just kind of enjoy — take it all in and I only get one time at the combine, for real.”

Lamb caught 62 passes for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior for the Sooners last year, bettering the 1,158 yards on 65 catches and 11 touchdowns he recorded as a sophomore in 2018 when Murray was his quarterback.

Murray has expressed excitement about potential re-joining forces with Lamb, according to Cardinals GM Steve Keim.

“From my text stream you can tell Kyler likes him,” Keim told Doug & Wolf on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station two weeks ago. “You know, you always would also lean toward guys that you know.”

At 6-foot-2, Lamb is a slightly bigger receiver than Jeudy, who is known as one of the best route-runners to come out of college in some time.

The 6-foot-1 Jeudy made 77 receptions for 1,163 yards and 10 touchdowns last year. That was down from the 1,315 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2018.

“They’re different games,” Keim said. “You watch CeeDee Lamb, and there are some things that come to mind when I watch him that remind me a little bit of (Houston receiver) DeAndre Hopkins. You talk about a guy that maybe isn’t the fastest vertically but is gritty, tough, runs great routes.

“Then you got Jerry Jeudy who is so smooth and accelerates in and out of breaks and is sort of like a Gumby doll. He’s got no stiffness. So they’re both great players, I think they’re going to have exceptional careers.”

Receivers will be joined by tight ends and quarterbacks on the field for drills this Thursday at the NFL Draft Combine in Indianapolis.

“There are some great ones in this draft,” Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said at the combine. “I think there’s going to be, up through round 4, some top, top guys that are still left. We’re going to do our due diligence and make sure we are ready if one of those guys is there for us.”
