Here is Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs wearing a Cardinals shirt

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs is a well-known name around football, and he’s garnered 770,000 followers on Instagram. With that platform, he was representing the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old was seen wearing a Cardinals long-sleeve shirt while doing drills on his Instagram story.

One could speculate endlessly as to why this would be the case.

Diggs told reporters in October that he was frustrated with the Vikings not winning enough (they went 8-7-1 the season prior). He also has been behaving cryptically on Twitter and Instagram all offseason and posted to Instagram last Friday, “Bridges burn [and] tables turn … you live and learn.”

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said in October that teams were calling the Vikings “like crazy” about Diggs, but that the team had no intention to trade him.

“Stefon last year had probably his most productive year,” Vikings GM Rick Spielman said at the recent NFL Combine. “And he’s a young receiver we just extended. And he’s not only a major part of our offense and a major part of our organization wining games, but he also does a lot of things for this organization off the field, as well. So there’s no reason, or the rumors or whatever you’re talking about, to anticipate that Stefon Diggs is not going to be a Minnesota Viking.”

Who can say what the outcome of all that will be?

The Cardinals could use another high-end wide receiver to pair with Kyler Murray, but a mystery trade in the works between Arizona and Minnesota doesn’t seem likely.

Perhaps he has a good friend who plays for the Cardinals who gave him a shirt. Maybe he showed up to the workout facility and forgot his workout clothes, and another Cardinals player was there to hook him up.

Maybe he caught a preseason game at State Farm Stadium under the alias Defon Stiggs and bought the shirt at the team store.

The Cardinals currently sell the shirt on their online team store for $39.99, which seems well within Diggs’ budget as he’s making $14 million per year. But it’s reasonable assume that the NFL gear wound up in his hands free of charge. A screenshot shows Diggs saying it was just that.
