D-backs strategist Dan Haren selling bobbleheads for coronavirus aid

Former MLB pitcher and current Arizona Diamondbacks pitching strategist Dan Haren wants to do more.
He’s already donated to two of his favorite charities amid the coronavirus crisis: Children’s Action’s Alliance in Phoenix and the Hollywood Food Coalition in Los Angeles. But he wants to raise awareness and some more money, so he’s selling his bobbleheads on eBay.

“I can’t imagine what it would be like to worry about not having a roof over my head or wondering where my next meal was coming from,” Haren wrote. “I’m doing these auctions not only to raise money for the causes I picked, but to raise awareness that so many charities need our help right now.
“My family has already given privately to these organizations. I was trying to think of creative ways to contribute to humans in need during this pandemic, so I decided to auction off my bobblehead collection and attach a personalized, signed note with each bobble.”
A Los Angeles Dodgers Zack Greinke bobblehead, for example, will pair with this little nugget: “Will tell me selling my bobbleheads is a dumb idea.”
Nineteen bids in, Greinke’s bobblehead is up for $217.50.
The note that will ship with a Texas Rangers Michael Young bobblehead reads: “His wife’s younger sister was my senior prom date in H.S.”
Other thoughts underscore playing day memories, take shots at a player’s size and lists fun facts, like a certain player using his retirement to sell Nugenix supplements.
All of Haren’s up-for-bid items can be found here.
Each of them comes with five random additional bobbleheads of Haren’s choosing.
To donate directly to Haren’s favorite causes, you can go to the Children’s Action Alliance and the Hollywood Food Coalition websites.
