While the elderly and those with pre-existing health issues are the most vulnerable to the coronavirus, the pandemic has caused problems for others that may not be directly inflicted with any illness.

Arizona Cardinals linebacker Chandler Jones is lending a hand with that in mind.

He committed to contributing 150,000 meals to food banks in Arizona and New York.

“These are really tough times and it is important for me to do my part and help out both here in Arizona and back at home in New York,” said Jones in a Thursday press release. “There are a lot of people in need and everything we can do as a community makes a difference.”

Jones will provide meals for the St. Mary’s Food Bank and Midwest Food Bank, both in Arizona, as well as the Mother Teresa’s Cupboard to help his hometown of Endicott, New York.

The outside linebacker’s charity follows that of Cardinals chairman and president Michael Bidwill, who announced Tuesday a $1 million donation to Arizona’s coronavirus relief fund set up by Gov. Doug Ducey.
