Even without the hardwood, some NBA players are still finding ways to play basketball against each other.
NBA 2K will be holding a players-only tournament beginning Friday. Phoenix Suns players Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton will participate in it.
Booker will face Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. and Ayton will go against Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine.
The tournament will be aired on ESPN beginning Friday. According to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes, the tournament will last 10 days.
The Boardroom, a talk show series created by Brooklyn Net forward Kevin Durant and his manager Rich Kleiman, tweeted a graphic of the 16 participant-bracket with players including Durant, Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell and Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young.
Here is the full bracket. The seeding was formulated by game ranking and, in cases of tie, longevity in the league.
No. 1. Kevin Durant (96) vs. No. 16 Derrick Jones (78)
No. 2. Trae Young (90) vs. No. 15 Harrison Barnes (78)
No. 3 Hassan Whiteside (87) vs. No. 14 Pat Beverley (78)
No. 4 Donovan Mitchell (87) vs. No. 13 Rui Hachimura (79)
No. 5 Devin Booker (86) vs. No. 12 Michael Porter Jr. (81)
No. 6 Andre Drummond (85) vs. No. 11 DeMarcus Cousins (81)
No. 7 Zach LaVine (85) vs. No. 10 Deandre Ayton (85)
No. 8 Montrezl Harrell (85) vs. No. 9 Domantas Sabonis (85)
NBA 2K has been relatively prominent since the NBA season was suspended on March 11.
The Suns have followed their season schedule by streaming the game on Twitch each scheduled night and allowing either a professional gamer or athlete to control the team.
