Arizona Cardinals running back Chase Edmonds will play as the Phoenix Suns in NBA 2K20 on Wednesday and face an Oklahoma City Thunder team led by the Miami Dolphins’ Shaq Lawson.
The game will air at 4 p.m. on Twitch but can be heard with play-by-play action from Jon Bloom and Tim Kempton at 6 p.m. on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
Edmonds will be the seventh different person to man the sticks for the Suns since the coronavirus halted the NBA regular season and pushed Phoenix into the virtual realm.
NFL safety Tony Jefferson, a former Cardinal, along with current Suns players Mikal Bridges, Ty Jerome and Frank Kaminsky have also played for Phoenix. So have 2K gamers Antonio Saldivar and Curtis Lane.
Edmonds, a big NBA fan, is coming off his second NFL season after going in the fourth round to the Cardinals in the 2018 NFL Draft. He rushed for 303 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 5.1 yards per carry last season.
Lawson spent his first four NFL seasons with the Buffalo Bills. He agreed to a three-year contract with the Dolphins less than two weeks ago and is coming off a 32-tackle, 6.5-sack season.
