The New England Patriots on Monday joined a group of NFL teams to update their uniforms this offseason.
The Pats lost quarterback Tom Brady via free agency, as the franchise face left for greener pastures in Tampa Bay. But as a new era begins under coach Bill Belichick, the players will also wear refreshed uniforms that feature the classic colors and motif.

The Patriots’ team site said the change was the first tweak to the primary uniform in 20 years.
The blue-on-blue uniform was first the team’s Color Rush uniform and most recently was an alternate uniform. Now, that uniform becomes the team’s primary home uniform. Even those, though, had some slight changes to the font and nameplates.
A new white jersey has become the road uniform, and it features blue numbers with red accents around the numbers and a red and blue stripe on the shoulders.
“Our primary uniforms in the modern era have been blue and white and they will remain so,” Kraft Sports and Entertainment CMO Jen Ferron said via the team site. “We recognize that fans also have an affinity for the red ‘throwback’ uniform and we hope to incorporate that into our uniform rotation in the future.”
