Yet another mock draft predicts the Arizona Cardinals will take an offensive lineman with the No. 8 pick.

Cris Collinsworth has the Cardinals taking Alabama offensive tackle Jedrick Wills Jr., who played the blind side for left-handed Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Collinsworth wrote:

The 6-foot-4 Wills is shorter and doesn’t have the arm length of some in this class, but his kick-step is tremendous. He can cut off almost any defender with his quickness, and he should be a real asset in the screen game getting out on blocks. His balance bouncing from one block to the next is impressive, and his ability to stay locked on blocks downfield is rare.

Wills started 29 games over his career at Alabama.

Between April 1 and April 22, 77.7% of the mock drafts tracked by Arizona Sports have the Cardinals taking an offensive tackle.

Wills was the pick in 46 of the 108 drafts that listed a tackle and Wirfs was the name 40 times.

Collinsworth wrote:

Great explosiveness, speed and playing energy gives him the nod over the other tackles, but it is close. Deciding between the tackles in this class was tough, the top five are all very good.

In having the Cardinals select Wills, Collinsworth has them going offensive line over defensive.

Arizona took Wills over Auburn defensive lineman Derrick Brown in this exercise. Collinsworth said he questions Brown’s impact on the passing game, but his size and potential to rack up the sacks makes him a top-10 choice.

NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah has the same opinion, as he lists Wills at No. 8 and Brown at No. 9.

98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s John Gambadoro narrowed down Cardinals’ interests to five players and believes they have more interest in Brown than they do Wills.
